The History of Pickled Petes!

Bryan Peterson and Jeff Carroll are the inspiration and the driving force behind Pickled Pete's so let's tell you how they brought him to life.

Bryan was born in 1970 and raised in Monterey Bay, California. Jeff, born in 1969 lived most of his life here at Lake of the Ozarks and graduated from School of the Osage in Lake Ozark.
Bryan moved to Lake of the Ozarks in 1992 and it was then that the two met while working at the Vista Grande Restaurant. Jeff was bartending and Bryan was waiting tables.

The two became friends and for several seasons, found themselves working together in all the most popular restaurants at the lake. They learned from every restaurant they worked in and one day decided that they should open their own establishment.

To help them get started, a friend who had confidence in their experience and knew them them to be hardworking guys, co-signed a loan with them...something they will always appreciate.

Next, they needed a name for their fledgling restaurant. They knew they wanted a character to use for marketing so they got out the cookbooks and began looking through them for cooking terms that might lend interest to the name of their restaurant. That's when the word "pickled" caught their eye. From there it wasn't hard to find a name to match up with pickled.

On January 9, 2000 Pickled Pete's opened!

From the beginning, Pickled Pete's has exceeded Jeff & Bryan's expectations and every year, the business has continued to grow. They have been so successful that they recently bought the building and property in which Pickled Pete's resides.
Jeff pursues the single life but along the way, Bryan met and married the girl of his dreams. Sonya Peterson now works alongside the two friends at Pickled Pete's. Her contribution to the success of the business is evident in lots of little things and her smiling face is a welcome sight around Pete's. Stop in and say "hi" to these hard working entrepreneurs, and while you're there, have a drink or something delicious from their menu.
